Twinning

One
of the benefits of having a little girl is being able to do the art of TWINNING. In mommy terms, twinning is
when you and your daughter dress alike. It makes for cute Instagram pictures
and not to mention all the compliments you receive when you’re out and about.
The key to pulling off twinning without making your toddler look too old and
you look too young is to dress similar, but not exact.

Take
for example the faux fur vest. For fall this season, faux fur is very much on
trend and looks good on virtually every size woman from petite to plus size.
The magic of the faux fur vest is that it also looks fabulous on little girls
as well. The tricks to twinning with this trend are the complimentary pieces
you wear with the vest.
For your little one try
putting a long sleeve shirt underneath that has a cute graphic print on the
chest. Pair it with some cute leggings or some jeans and a pair of their
favorite boots. For yourself try a button up blouse underneath the vest in the
same color as your little girls. If she’s wearing jeans, you wear a pair of
boyfriend jeans. You don’t have to wear the same kind of shoe, just make sure they are similar
in color.
The accessories you
choose is what’s going to make your outfit look more age appropriate. A
statement necklace, a nice watch and some bangles, or a pair of fun earrings
will give your outfit that grown woman boost that you need to successfully pull
off twinning.
There will come a time
when your daughter no longer wants to dress like you. So for now, take
advantage that you still get to pick out her clothes. When she looks back at
those pictures of the two of you dressed alike, she’ll see that you were her style
icon. And with any luck, years later, you still will be.
Happy
Twinning Ladies!
