Southern MOMMY COUTURE
Where
Fashion Meets Function
Make a Statement
Let’s face it… the
pictures of celebrity mom’s in six inch louboutins running errands with their
adorably dressed kids in tow are the stuff of dreams. They have nannies, cooks,
assistants for their assistants, and not to mention a personal stylist that
takes the guess work out of everyday fashion. For the average mom, we have none
of those luxuries, and all of the desire to still look (insert shoulder shrug)
relevant. So how do we, the norm, get the look of the elite and still do all
the things that make us the super mom’s that we are?

Something as simple as
a printed loafer or a brightly colored statement necklace and bag can take
plain to POW, blah to BAM, and can make you the envy of the T-shirt wearing, tan
cardigan clutching, ponytail wearing women sitting next to you at the Wednesday
night PTA meeting. Prints like leopard, stripes, hounds tooth, and plaid can be
combined with mommy staples like T-shirts and Jeans to give you an added boost
of color, without losing the comfort and function that we all need. When used
strategically, these statement pieces can elevate your outfit to become an
overall look. But if you’re afraid of print or looking like you’re trying too
hard, place these bold pieces on your shoes, bag, or in a necklace. You’ll
still pop, but without the commitment that a printed blouse of pant holds you
to.
As the mother of a soon
to be two year old little girl, I want to be her role model, in life, in
spirit, and in style. By incorporating statement pieces, I’m making the
statement…
I’M A MOM & I’M FABULOUS
