We all remember that scene in Sex and the City where Carrie is
walking down the streets of Paris in her green tutu and khaki blazer. With her
curly hair and high heels, Ms. Bradshaw managed to upscale what is normally
viewed as too whimsy for a grown woman, and make it sophisticated and fun.

Tulle is back in a
major way and I’m not just talking about the wedding chapel. This season pick
up a tulle skirt from places like Dorothy Perkins or House of Fraser and pair it with a form fitting sweater in a
big print or a bold solid color. Stay away from really blousy shirts or over sized sweaters as they add even more bulk. Look for a skirt that hits you
at the smallest part of your waist. The volume of the tool will make your waist
look extra tiny, especially if you add a belt.

With this look, a pair of heels will send it over the top.
Avoid wearing ballet flats as it can look a little tutu gimmicky (pun intended).
A high bun or half up hair style adds even more romance to this look.
But you don’t need a date to pull this off. True, it’s a little too fancy for
going to the grocery store, but a night out with friends is a great way to take
this trend for a spin.
It’s cute on kids and
adorable on adolescents, but the tulle tutu skirt is now wonderful for women of
all ages. So go out and discover your inner ballerina.
